I agree, sometimes the postings can be, to me, tedious. But look at it from
the otherside of the fence, if you are sat there with a "blocked ink jet"
and you need to get some work out by midday, what is the harm in asking the
rest of us our advice ? Little problems can be huge problems at times. I
have posted little problems many times on this forum and have always
received, either on or off list, replies that have made my work life much
easier and saved me days of experimenting. Lots of the stuff that goes on
here is way above me, but I read and try to learn from others. So for
someone else ( and this is not directed at you Steve ! ) to say that the
topics are not techincal or interesting or thought provoking enough then I
feel that they should realize that they are here not only to learn but to
help others (I admit that I learn 100% more then teach).

I earn 100% of my income from photography but I'm also happy to help someone
who earns 1%.
