And who decides what is best for whom?  What if someone does not have the 
capability to create PDF documents; who will provide the means?

Then maybe 'someone' shouldn't be trying to send out invites via email.

OpenOffice.org, a free download for nearly 5 years now, has had the capability to create PDFs by pushing a button - from documents, presentations and spreadsheets - since day one.

We send all of our books to our printer via PDFs that are generated out of OpenOffice.org. They take the PDFs and go straight to press. None of this old-fashioned 'print out the pages and create plates' nonsense anymore.

'tain't rocket science. 'tain't even expensive anymore. :)
