My daughter and wife INSISTED (after many times of complaining) that I
put MS Word back onto the family PC, that they did not want to use
OpenOffice just because it wasn't what they were used to. M$ is
established and has a strong foothold/following with non-computer
("regular") folks. This is a perfect example, imo.
Ahem. Who wears the pants in the family? I mean, the pants that have the
pocket protector in the pocket.
I run the network here, I decide what goes on the network. If they want
to use MS Word, fine, they can. They just can't get onto the network
anymore, nor can they ask me for help to do <fill in the blank>.
You want to drive on my streets, you follow MY rules.
Funny thing is that they hear of their friends getting whammed by this
virus or that crash.... and suddenly realize that all of those
experiences are completely foreign in this household.
