You are confusing limitations with functionality.  Virgil's point, which I
agree with whole-heartedly, is that if it can't be done on paper then it
can't be done.  No mention of efficiently.  So, the paper system has serious
limitations due to the physical constraints such as quantity or response
times - that's why we use computers!  But the basics still apply, if it
can't be done on paper first then it can't be done.
