This is the best part Ed, they already have standards internally. You buy a machine, it comes with anti-virus already pre-loaded along with the OS. Nothing to download and compile. The vendors have done all the work upfront by selecting the vendor who gives them the best deal that week. (all with my tongue firmly planted in cheek) I am sure they just install the same copy of the AV they bought for the first machine. (might as well pull out the gasoline for the fire <s>) Picking from a pile of the "same" operating systems and picking from a handful of anti-virus vendors is not even close to the same thing Ed, sheesh. Let me see, if I pick a new OS I have to replace my entire infrastructure (OS, Office, Email, mission critical custom database applications, etc). I pick a $25 AV product and it does not work I go get the next one recommended by PC Magazine. I doubt any company has come to a grinding stop to pick new AV products. Not even a company the size of GM where every IT decision took a committee.
