??  But you already did pay, and paid for updates too, as I read your 
text above?  If you paid for the updates (but not the latest update for 
which they wanted more money), couldn't you just tell them "well, kindly 
give me my last paid version back."  From a customer service angle, this 
should be a no-brainer for them, especially given your track record of 
always paying for it in the past.
