I question the "worked extremely well for others" part, and I'll offer
the OT stats as evidence in this case. But of far greater consequence is
the deterioration of our world for very similar reasons. From hecklers
on small forums to organized gangs behind the TV and in Washington, the
techniques of persuasion and disruption are the same, and have been
applied in both cases with effect. 

We're a small victim, granted, but multiply it out and there you go.
