Hi John!

The poor typically subsist on the least expensive food available. This 
sort of diet contains a lot of "empty calories", Very little protein, no 
vitamins and especially no minerals. If you ever try this, and I most 
definitely do NOT recommend it, you will sustain a significant weight 
gain. Women, I think, even more so.

This first came to light in the Kennedy/Johnson era, if I recall correctly.
