Finally, somebody that knows what they are talking about. People are a product of their environment. If you grew up in a poor family, most of the time (not always), your family will be poor.
Poor people are taught about fishing and hunting and sports. Rich people are taught about investments and managing their money. None of us, until we choose to educate ourselves about it are taught about a healthy lifestyle I too thought meat and potatoes was a healthy lifestyle because that was how I was raised. Until my weight balooned from stress and not taking care of myself, I never even knew that there was a difference because I had never had an interest in such things. People are not all the same and that is what makes us great is the differences. Some are fat, some are skinny, Some are ugly, some are beautiful We come in all shapes and sizes and this conformity craze that is sweeping the world to have all of us conform, or to be the same as everybody else really has me concerned. A good book to read about how the poor survive in the U.S. in real life is "Nickeled and Dimed", by Barbara Ehrenreich <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url?%5Fencoding=UTF8&search -type=ss&index=books&field-author=Barbara%20Ehrenreich>. She went undercover and lived like the Box-Mart greeters did for a year. It was a real eye-opener, both to her and those who read the book. Before she did this, she had the same "they only have themselves to blame" mentality that a lot of us do. _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
