Brad,

Was the class worth the cost? I was wondering because I am considering
attending one of their sessions. Who teaches the class?

Hi guys,
well it sounds as if you are chasing a genuine Protel "bug". I saw
this several months ago in SP5 and since it is not listed in the fixes for
SP6, I doubt they fixed it. When I contacted Tech Support they acknowledged
it but had no fix nor any indication of when or how to fix it. At the time I
had just taken the Protel training and during that class we had to show it
the location once, thereafter it found it on it's own. Back on my machine it
still doesn't find any of the help files while I have shown it the location
several times. My biggest question would be, why did the training software
work, why does the released software not work? Seems to me Protel is
'cheating' in their training sessions, using software which is not
equivalent to released versions in order to hide or get around bugs during
the classes.

Sincerely,

Protel is "probably" expecting to find this file at c:\Program
Files\Protel99SE (based on where HLP files were found in earlier versions).
In my experience, if you "tell" it where it *really* is, it should "know"
from that time on. So when you are offered to locate the file yourself, do
so. Even though it will probably consequently abort before opening the file
on that occasion, it *should* then find the file itself, during *following*
attempts to access on-line help.

Good luck,
Geoff Harland.
