Wouldn't it be funny if 1 PC had a SlotA type 500 MHz cpu, and PC#2 had a Socket 370 type PIII. Or, 1 cpu had cache and the other none. ____________ Brian Guralnick ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------- Comedy clips: ftp://ftp.point-lab.com/quartus/Public/MP3/Simpsons-FatFingers.mp3 -53K ftp://ftp.point-lab.com/quartus/Public/MP3/Simpsons-Moe-LieDetector.mp3 -166K ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew Jenkins" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Protel EDA Forum" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, February 13, 2002 7:34 PM Subject: Re: [PEDA] Performance difference between 2 of the same machines | On 04:54 PM 2/13/2002 -0500, Bob Jones wrote: | >Here's the problem: | >2 identical computers, Compaq 500 Mhz, bought at the same time, same place, 2 years ago. | >computer 1 has 440 MB Ram , 2650 virtual memory free, recently defragged and software newly loaded. | >computer 2 has 216 MB Ram, 850 virtual memory free. | | | Hmm... Your systems do not sound like they're identical to me. However, IFF the ancillary hardware and application software loaded on each (and each computer's O/S) are identical, then it's possible that you have a bad component, perhaps a bad memory chip. | | aj | * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To post a message: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] * * To leave this list visit: * http://www.techservinc.com/protelusers/leave.html * * Contact the list manager: * mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] * * Forum Guidelines Rules: * http://www.techservinc.com/protelusers/forumrules.html * * Browse or Search previous postings: * http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
