Thanks Aymeric,

I tried both Aptitude and Synaptics.

Having never used Aptitude I wasn't able to get a lot done, but I did find
LiVES on a list and I think the list was the "uninstalled software" list.

Synaptics was a little easier once I took a look at it. Defineately found
LiVES on the list of unistalled software. I marked it for installation and
applied the installation. The install ran, I thought it was going to work,
then a box poped up saying "an error has occurred"

there were 12 items in the list of fails:
Failed to fetch
http://uk.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/g/gavl/libgavl_1.2_amd64.deb
could not resolve 'uk.archive.ubuntu.com'

The next 11 were the same except the gavl was replaced with :
plugins
libsox1a
libweed
mplayer
alsa
base
livesdata
omgtools
lives

Any ideas?

Thanks, Tim
