That's a good goal, but, unfortunately, it's not scalable. Most of us
don't have the luxury of only working with a single OS distribution.
If each of them has its own internally consistent layout, we still
have multiple inconsistent layouts to deal with.

DJB's goal is make qmail/djndns/whatever consistent on *all*
platforms.
