First, let me say that I think it is great that Eugene brought the subject up and did his calculations. Don't the leave results vary with the remaining tiles in the bag? Also, if you have an infinite number of leaves calculated, how do remember all them-is a practical thing to spend time on? A while a go, I made something up with the letter values in Maven. The letters with positive values were ZAXES? something. N was neutral and everything else was negative. Ron

Just the predefined Quackle superleaves? or some other algorithm? I find it hard to believe a lot of these, ABERRS to cite one. surely BARES, or even SEAR, is better than doubled R's. -John VP On Mon, Jan 26, 2009 at 7:23 PM, Eugene Deon <ejd...@yahoo. com> wrote: > I computed the subset of maximal superleaves (definition: a leave is maximal > if no amount of deleting letters from it improves its value) > > > > http://www.eugenede on.com/maximalle aves.txt > > > > Then it's easy to ask questions like: > > > > 1) If I have some letters in CERTAIN and a V, when, if ever, would I keep > the V with those letters when exchanging? > > Answer: not very often (only with these 11 racks) > > > > AEIRTV 14 > AEINTV 14 > EEIRRV 12 > ACEIRV 12 > EEINRV 11 > CEEIRV 11 > ACEITV 10 > AEENRV 7 > AEIRV 6 > AAIRTV 6 > AEITV 4 > > > > Many more lists will be made available when I collect them all in some > navigatable fashion, but I thought this one was cool. > > > > Eugene d'Eon > >
