I've seen it done before and I've done it before. But its still a slippery slope and loaded with hidden cautions. What do you plan on doing with the 12 volt socket? You can damage a battery if the drawdown is more then two volts. The controller on your electric wheelchair requires 24 volts of clean DC energy. Loss of power due to an unusual drain will also cause damage to your controller and charger. Battery chargers charge batteries not battery and you might get more recharge in just one of your two batteries. That is why DME will not install them. Liability. I wanted to get a cigarette lighter outlet on my chair. I called all the chair repair shops around, but no one will do it. I saw one that said it plugged into a wheelchair's charging outlet on a joystick controller, but did not mention what chairs are compatible. $200, a bit high. But my chair will not work if the charger is plugged in. Greg
