Dan, I had my big-toe nails removed years ago after recurrent ingrown nails. I've never had an ingrown nail since then, so it was a success in that sense. However, I don't know if the removal was done improperly but I did have a 'nail' of sorts grow back on each toe. The new nail is thicker and uglier than the original nail, grows very slowly, and causes me much embarrassment [I refuse to wear sandals or show my feet] as it looks as if the nail has a fungus or is mutant. I've never looked into having it re-removed. I guess I should. I guess you'd say the removal was both good and bad for me. Don.
