This could be a very big problem. Most of the time, I had no problems whatsoever following a catheter changed. About four or five times, something was wrong. In one case, the pain was so terrible I needed to go to the hospital. Possibly the procedure was done incorrectly. Possibly the new catheter is blocked or pinched. This might be a serious situation. Call your nurse now. Insist that another catheter be installed. In an emergency, you can also try flushing the catheter using a mild solution of distilled water and vinegar.

You might want to try to increase the amount of fluid in the ball. If it's a 5 mL Foley, you can put up to 10 mL without too much problem.
