This could be a very big problem. Most of the time, I had no problems
whatsoever following a catheter changed. About four or five times,
something was wrong. In one case, the pain was so terrible I needed to go
to the hospital. Possibly the procedure was done incorrectly. Possibly the
new catheter is blocked or pinched. This might be a serious situation. Call
your nurse now. Insist that another catheter be installed. In an emergency,
you can also try flushing the catheter using a mild solution of distilled
water and vinegar.

Had my suprapubic changed for the first time about 5 hours ago and the
Autonomic Dysreflexia won't let up. Expected some AD, but not this
long/bad. How do you all treat/deal with this?

I had my SP for almost 17 years and had very little problem with leakage out
of the stoma. You might want to try to increase the amount of fluid in the
ball. If it's a 5 mL Foley, you can put up to 10 mL without too much
problem. I used to use around eight, because if I used anything lower it
might leak a little.

Hopefully this helps you out. You can also wear a drain sponge around the
SP.
