I have to agree with Dave.  When they changed your catheter did they
irrigate to make sure that everything is working okay?  Also it is
important that they insert the catheter all the way in.  It's easier than
you would think to have the catheter partway in.  I had this happen once in
the pain was horrific and I did experience AD.

In order to make sure it's in right, they should stop once the catheter
reaches the back of the bladder.  Insert some fluid into the balloon and
then lightly pull on the catheter to make sure it moves in and out a little
bit.

PS I did experience some pain off and on when I had mine changed, but the
only times I ever remember having AD involved the catheter not being in all
the way and once they put in a silicone catheter.
