Hi Phil, Sounds like real progress, and thanks for the well detailed update on your progress. To the best of my knowledge (unless I am overlooking something obvious), there is no "password" for LMS. But, if you want to access mysb.com from LMS, you can enter your username and password into LMS, so that the transition back and forth (mysb<>LMS) is transparent. So, I think, if you have your mysb.com pw issue sorted, you should be good. There is something else that I (and maybe others) had held back regarding LMS because you had so many other thing to sort out. I would suggest considering not getting the imac involved in LMS, rather, you can run LMS, 24/7, low power consumption, on a small single board computer, like a raspberry pi. There are a few ways to do this but many of us use picoreplayer (pcP) https://www.picoreplayer.org/ This system was developed and is supported by many generous people, many (all?) members of this community. In your case, you might run your pcP as a LMS server only. This is what I do, although, it can also be a "player". Ignoring your music library for a moment, you can build (simple) one for less well under $100USD (assuming there are no supply chain issues? I wouldn't know). Then, for your music library, it can be any external storage, from a USB thumb drive to a USB Hard Disk Drive. The "parts" to build one - a board, wall power supply, a case, and a small micro SD card. The process is pretty straight forward, and well documented https://docs.picoreplayer.org/getting-started/ although there are some steps that are specific to your external storage and network that might be a bit greek to you at first. We can help you with that. You will need a computer (the old imac?) to do the setup, as you access the pcP/pi with a browser (you can setup with just a monitor/keyboard/mouse, but lets not confuse things) It really can be a "set it and forget it" system, but it also can be a bit fiddly and intimidating for the nontechnical as you try to get it to do more. I set one up for a friend who is fairly non technical, and maybe a bit afraid of learning someing, and his eyes glaze over when I try to show him how to something cool with it. He just wants it to continue to play his music. I love it. Its a game changer for me. Cheap, low power consumption, and your computer (imac) doesn't have to be on for it to run. Mine run24/7, I don't even think about it. Give that some thought, if it interests you, let us know, and I suggest you start another thread for us to help you through it, so we don't hijack this one. WE can continue to work through any remaining network/radio issues here The forum is littered with threads where people with zero experience (which was all of us at one time, eh?) putting a pcP together. Just to a search on picoreplayer in the forum. You can read through a few or the DIY link above to get a feel. IMO this is the way to go for you. This way if Julie has to take her iMac to a meeting, you don't lose your music :) Jim PS - Still don't understand the UE issue. One of my radios is a UE, but I just went in and switched it to sb. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Redrum's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109953 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
