Wow, great discussion folks. I had discussions with a number of people before I considered charging less, and several of the points that have been brought up here were mentioned. I agree that quality can in fact save people a lot of money, as can a focus on using software to increase efficiency. I'm not sure I agree with Mike that there's always room to increase the size of the pie though (or that there is no pie). There does exist a finite pie, and while it's a fair bit bigger than the plate we're eating off, you get diminishing returns as you approach it's full size.
