You can't nullify the consequences in this world just because you asked for forgiveness.  There would be no need for abortions, people could just say to God "I have sinned, I'm sorry.  Don't let me be pregnant" and they would be not pregnant.  You could steal a million doallars in embezelment and not have to repay a penny.  Thats not the way it works.  There are three meanings, only which one means that the forgiven party has no form of restitution to repay.  The problem comes with the ideas of actions and their consequences.  If I chop halfway through a tree; the action is cutting it, while the consequence is that the tree will fall and die.  The action of running a knife along butter is to cut the butter.  In the old testament it said that if a death was commited in accident that the offender should be allowed to live, fleeing to a city of refuge if needed.  If the death was a murder then the murder should be punished.  The actions an individual does do have consequences.  The more serious the actions the more serious the consequences.  Carrying a knife into an airport, even unkowingly will cause one to be arrested.  Even if the person did so with no malicious intent, their actions still call for consequences.  That is something parents (even Christian ones) teach their children, whether it is a spanking or some other form of punishment for misbehavior.  To do that, and then to say that someone else should not have to pay for their transgressions is hypocritic.  He admits what he did was wrong, and that he knew it was wrong.  He has been shown leniency in the actions that the prosecuter and judge are allowing, and that in itself is grace.   1 a : to give up resentment of or claim to requital for <forgive an insult> b : to grant relief from payment of <forgive a debt> 2 : to cease to feel resentment against (an offender) XKeithX "The Aftermath" Beloved The aftermath was better than I thought it would be, But I closed my eyes so I couldn't see what would become of it Get more from the Web.
