If ANYONE on this list were to even think that, they'd be exposing
themselves as frauds. Christians are forgiven, not perfect. Though giving
up is a human reaction to adverse situations, it does not make you less a
Christian. It only exposes the stage you are currently at in your spiritual
life. This is NOT a bad thing. We have to have bad experiences to shove us
out of our comfort zone. We need some wing stretching to gain strength for
the next battle. What ever you do with a boy, what ever you say to a boy..
always do it as if it were Jesus doing it to you... back to Sheldon's
book... WWJD?? If your founded in scripture, it should be no question.
In all that, we are STILL human. This is why we have Senior Commanders, and
the Commander Staff. If the only action you can take towards a problem
child is sending him to the Senior Commander for discipline/counsel, then DO
IT. That's what he's there for... to handle issues that arise that take
focus away from the meeting plan and on to an individual problem. If your
Sr. Commander is busy playing Outpost commander, then work hard to get him a
replacement so he can be a full time Sr. Commander so he can do his job
effectively... so in turn, you can do your job effectively.
If you let the boys frustrate you to a point where you must defend your
actions, then your only action should be to send them to another Commander
(or Pastor/Decon) for action, and get back to your meeting plan. If all
else fails, make sure you have another (impartial) Commander with you if you
must deal with it yourself.
Blessings,
Parson.
