*Just to back up a bit.. for new friends around the Cybercamp fire<G>
I attended NTC '96 at Donner Mine Camp,Calif and came back to
the Outpost with the desire to raise the "morale" of the Patrol system.
I assumed everything used at NTC was for a "reason" and endorsed
by National for "use" in the local Outpost.. (*except Mr.Kontty)
but when I came back.. I found information on the "How to impliment"
the Patrol was lacking in Ranger material. The Patrol is much, much more
than a funny cheer or flag.. or a silly name. It's where a small group
can become "friends" and trust in each other, as they become challenged!
It worked for me at NTC, and it should be a core value we teach as
Ranger leaders.
If it don't make sence to your "back row" of boys.. It just plain don't make
sence
me eather<G> *So... the challenge as I see it is to involve everyone in fair
play,
equal say in democratic leadership, and teach ethical choices for getting along
with friends, enemies, adults, leaders, teachers, bosses for the "Lifetime
Adventure"
*I'm no expert!
...and neather is Senior Guide<G>
But what the boys want is just a "friend" and So do I<G>
That's where we as a "patrol" can work it out!
