Yup.. TOUGHTS! *I have a couple..

There are two trains of thought *both valid..

1. A Parent is the best person for "knowing the heart" of
a Ranger boy, and useing the advancement trail at home can
leade to a valuable encounter with a series of teachable
moments. Cub scouts have been doing this for years with
success! *The parent or guardian of the boy, works with
him at their own pace to meet the requirements and signs
off as a partner. If RR ran this way it would relieve
Commander of judgeing on the "fly" if what the boy says..
   is Ranger *blue!

*On the other hand..

2. The boys will need to learn how to deal with people and
different voices, minds and expectations of the requirements.

Much value can come from the struggle to meet the *No more-
*No less ethic of a nutral party! Haveing your son go to
another leader than you *Commander dad... *MY translate into
percieved Honor.. by others. This may however hinder your
    son needlessly, and burden him.

    MY OPINION........

    *Let Dad sign off

You as an officer of the Outpost have no authority to
*question or hold a leader to a rigid standard, as their
has never been... a standard set! *Even the GMA has been
awarded on the signature, without follow-up of any Adult
    Leader.

BE CLEAR! I *Honor all GMA achievers!

As a matter of ethics, I question compareing the GMA to
the BSA Eagle, because *they have tackeled this question
and found a way to avoid compromise. Royal Rangers do
not require record keeping, or training certification
for advancement of the boys... or a review of the Rangers
    Handbook!

 Thanks-
