I was wondering about that myself. I don't understand how this could have happened. When we camp (whether sectional, district, or national) we camp out either in the woods or an open field but never near power lines.
But then again I've only heard about this by word of mouth and radio so I should probably wait until I get more info before I can give any opinions regarding this tragedy. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of noel j bell jr Sent: Saturday, July 30, 2005 7:02 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [RR] Is it just me, or does it appear Boy Scouts is becoming unsafe? Four deaths in one week, come on. Why on earth would anyone sit up a tent near a power line anyway? Your not going to tell three out three leaders didn't know a power line was there. Then there was the recent deal about a Boy Scout being struck by lighting. If some scout leaders are that dumb why are they leading boys? Are we doing much better in Rangers?
