Brussels would perhaps not be completely hopeless. Because of the EU headquarters

That's basically what I wanted to say: if you can have only one HQ, then Brussels is probably your best bet.

(But certainly not big nations like France, Spain, Italy, UK where people are only familiar with their own culture and where it's harder to find someone who's fluent at a second language--including English--than to find someone who knows three, four, or even five languages in the Benelux.)

Let's first give the French people the chance to prove themselves, RS must have some confidence in their French partner, both when it comes to sales and support. That said, I understand the doubts many Europeans express, most of the French distributors don't really care about anything but France, Apple Expo Paris is not a European- centric, but a pure French-centric event (apart from the great guys from Rapidweaver and Openbase).

Glad to hear some people consider Brussels the best place for HQ, but keep in mind income and social security taxes in Belgium are killing. To give you an idea, my boss has to pay around €4000 in total so that I would be left with little over €1200 (of course, our medical care is almost free, but still...). I can imagine US companies don't see this as a profitable region to start a business.

Best regards
