I did the only thing that I could spare time for, which was to make
fellow list members aware of a possible problem.
Thus hoping that someone else would do the work for you.
No, not really. To be honest, I really didn't care if it would be fixed or
not, now that I was aware of it. I only felt morally obliged to inform
fellow RB programmers on the list. If RS would follow up on it that would
have been nice, if not... soit. ...so be it.
If it really bothers you enough to mention it on the lists frequently
then how much more time would it take to make the actual Feedback report?
Frequently? I don't follow you here. Also, it doesn't bother me at al, since
the problem went away for me.
Probably about the same time it took to write one letter to the lists.
In order to file a bug report you need to document steps to reproduce the
problem. In order to do that I'd have to know what the cause was. I didn't
know that. I could have written five times the email I sent to the list for
completing one bug report.
Secondly, I did once report a bug; RS couldn't reproduce it and marked it
fixed, and completely ignored my follow ups. That was RS' encouragement for
me to report bugs in the future.
No big deal, if that's how it's done. Just don't expect me to play stupid
again.
