Did it really go away or did you simply learn to cope with it?
It went away, apparently after I had reinstalled my PC. I'm on Windows, mind
you. The current thread was started about this behavior on Mac though.
In this case I disagree with you. The only step is to run Rb debugs
enough times.
You don't know that. In fact, I know for sure that that is no failsafe way
to reproduce this problem, since it currently does not leave temporary files
on my system. This leads me to believe that the problem may not have been
exclusively caused by RB, but that for some reason RB was prevented by the
OS to remove those temp files.
