Did it really go away or did you simply learn to cope with it?
It went away, apparently after I had reinstalled my PC.
The OS or REALbasic?
I'm on Windows, mind you. The current thread was started about this
behavior on Mac though.
I believe it concerned using r4 UB on an Intel Mac.
In this case I disagree with you. The only step is to run Rb
debugs enough times.
You don't know that. In fact, I know for sure that that is no
failsafe way to reproduce this problem, since it currently does not
leave temporary files on my system. This leads me to believe that
the problem may not have been exclusively caused by RB, but that
for some reason RB was prevented by the OS to remove those temp files.
That may be true but I am a Mac PPC user and I have seen this happen
on specific past versions of Rb as well. R4 is currently doing this
to me (i.e. using up disk space and Ram and not always releasing it).
I also don't use plug-ins so that's not relevant. That is unless the
Rb plug-ins are causing the problem. :)
