On the Lighter Side... Welcome To The Neighborhood The family had spent the day moving from their farmhouse into a new apartment house in town. Very early the next morning, the 5 1/2 -year-old ran into their bedroom to wake them up. Mom dressed him and told him to play and let them rest for a while longer. About 20 minutes later, he came running back. "Mommy, Mommy," he exclaimed, "Everybody has doorbells.... and they all work!" Ancient Artifact? A little boy opened the big, old family Bible with fascination, looking at the old pages as he turned them. Then something fell out of the Bible and he picked up and looked at it closely. It was an old leaf from a tree. The leaf had been pressed in between pages. "Momma, look what I found," the boy called out. "What have you got there, dear?" his mother asked. With astonishment in his voice, the young boy answered: "It's Adam's suit!" Air Conditioning A customer was continually bothering the waiter in a restaurant; first, he'd asked that the air conditioning be turned up because he was too hot, then he asked it be turned down because he was too cold, and so on for about half an hour. Surprisingly, the waiter was very patient, walking back and forth and never once getting angry. So finally, a second customer asked why didn't they just throw out the pest. "Oh, I don't care," said the waiter with a smile. "We don't even have an air conditioner." Longevity At their 50th anniversary celebration, the husband was asked the secret of their longevity. "Well, we agreed in the beginning that if we ever got into a fight, I would just take my hat and go for a walk. After a while, I would return and throw my hat through the doorway. If she threw it back, it was time to take another walk. So I account my longevity to all the exercise I've gotten over the years!" Think About It A bus station is where a bus stops.
