I signed up for Pinboard (http://pinboard.in/) a good while back as Delicious
was deteriorating and haven't looked back since, even when Delicious was
bought. It dubs itself "Social Bookmarking for Introverts", which pretty much
means that you don't have a lot of the extra social cruft in the way, but you
still have a full API, feeds and the ability to import other feeds. It was easy
to import and the plugin keeps my bookmarks in synch across computers. Note,
there is a one time fee, but I love the way that it's calculated - it goes up
one cent for each new user. So there's actually a business model there. It's
run by a single guy as far as I'm aware, so he keeps the costs low. When the
site has run into troubles, users are notified via Twitter and seems to get on
a resolution quickly. A bit more info: http://pinboard.in/tour/ I also follow
the dev blog, which provides further detail on downtime and is a great
perspective in general as it provides a glimpse into a truly bootstrapped
startup that is doing very well: http://blog.pinboard.in/

Also, I found that Chrome does an excellent job syncing not only bookmarks, but
also covers plugins, preferences and a bunch of other things. I love
installing a plugin at work and already having it on my machine when I get home.
