The CD ususaly has the re-issue date on the back, but you have to go hunting for the original release date. I know a lot of the Pink Floyd albums don't have the original album release year anywhere on the CD, cover or booklet. I hade to check my brothers Guiness Hit Albums books to find out when they charted and use that instead.
