Slightly beyond the topic, what do people do with classical reissues? There are several dates: - date of composition - date of performance - date of first issue - date of reissue or remaster
I have generally stuck to the date of performance, where available, as this can also give useful information about the likely quality (especially mono vs stereo!). What do others do?
