Hi, You got me wrong a bit... I want to play a new cd in a cd player and NOT via slimserver. I want to get the data OUT of transporter via ethernet NOT via digital out since there is NO computer in my listening room I need the network. Transporter would need to bridge between optical digital in FROM the cd player TO the home network. If transporter had the ip 192.168.178.12 I would 1. insert the cd in to a player and start play back 2. setup transporter to work as a stand allone dac 3. point my REMOTE computer to 192.168.178.12:666 (for example) and4. while listening to the player let the remote machine grep the very same stream VIA THE NETWORK.
