You won't be able to do this with Transporter (or anything else for
that matter).  Transporter's s/pdif inputs are so that you can use it
as an external DAC with some other device that has s/pdif output. It
does not support streaming that signal out to the network. 

Secondly, it sounds like you want to use such a setup to effectively
rip a CD using a s/pdif signal from a CD player. This is not possible,
at least not in the proper sense of "ripping". All you would get is
functionality similar to dubbing a cassette, i.e. you'd be forced to
run at 1X speed, and there would be no track markers, no track names,
and not even error correction (except whatever the CD player manages to
do on-the-fly).  In order to do all that, the reader needs to have
direct access to the medium so that it can read various embedded bits
of information, as well as go back to re-read a section if there's an
error. Ripping on a computer is actually much more reliable that what
an audio CD player can do.

Some ripping software, notably iTunes, allows you to listen to a CD
while it is being ripped. You might want to see if that does it for
you.
