Intruiging... the only thing that seems to fit that would be if there's some sort of ultrasonic tone (eg. around the 20kHz mark) mixed in which is designed to generate an audible beat frequency when added to some other high frequency tone (eg. the bias signal when using an analogue tape recorder).
But assuming you're recording with a soundcard, as far as I am aware there will be no other high frequency tone involved that could generate a beat frequency. So I have to say I'm baffled. Perhaps you could upload a short section (just a few seconds) of a recording that includes this tone - some of us around here have a bunch of audio analysis tools that might shed a bit more light on it. -- cliveb Transporter -> ATC SCM100A ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cliveb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=348 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=37201 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
