Hi Brawny, The new beta version of Audacity support Flac natively, so you could record and edit directly in Audacity using Flac.
You could correct scratch and pop in Audacity but other software as SoundForge got very effective plugin to do so. I may suggest you to use an external audio card (with usb or firewire connection) instead of the SoundBlaster. An external card is lees prone to noise. I'm using a M-Audio FastPro, using volume input control and headphone built-in amplifier is very effective. Using CD Architect 5.2c (with Flac support) give me the possibility to create and edit easily the LP after capture. More and more I'm trying to keep all my audio in Flac or MP3 to get the benefit of tagging all information related to the file. Metadata rules... If you like Zappa listen to Wazoo the latest album from FZ, if you like live performances and instrumental music you`ll be serve. -- mftech Tête à FLAC ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mftech's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1586 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40894
