I use the gold version of MM and dbpoweramp.  I like to rip with
dbpoweramp because it's more secure than MM's ripper.  Plus very good
metadata for the good tags that SC needs.  But I think you will do well
with just MM if you want.  Money is tight right now so it's hard to buy
everything you want.  If you don't get dbpoweramp you could use EAC for
ripping and MM for all your organizing.  EAC is free and a secure
ripper.  If money isn't tight for you then dbpoweramp is well worth it.
