The only formats natively supported by DB are wav, flac and mp3 I
think. So, your AAC's are being trans-coded by SC before sending them,
that's why you needed convert.conf.

If you really can't let go of iTunes, you should rip as apple lossless
and have SC convert them (slight delay), or transcode the lot to flac.
I would let go of iTunes and use EAC or dbPowerAmp but I'm not sure if
your PC is apple and what's available on Apple. You should not choose
for mp3 as it's lossy and better encoders come out regularly. If you
want to switch to a new encoder, you would have to rip the cd's again
but when you have a lossless copy on hard-disk already, you can
transcode.

I wished I had a bit more "feeling" with iTunes but I seem to have some
problems with it as I even fail to browse the store on genre and
stuff....
