My PC is Windows and I use iTunes because I have an iPod. I currently have iTunes set up to encode using AAC at 256kpbs. Using loseless on the iPod would far exceed the size of its disk. Besides I doubt you could hear any difference on the iPod between the two. However, is there a significant difference listening to music on a home theater system between loseless and AAC at 256kpbs? Can you hear the difference? If yes I'm guessing the best scenario would be to leave my iTunes library alone and just use it for the iPod and to re-rip using a loseless format like FLAC for use with SqueezeCenter. Any new CDs would get ripped twice. Does this sound correct? Any recommendations between EAC or dbPowerAmp?
