It's certainly the case that vinyl playback has a "sound of its own"
which can actually be very appealing. But every aspect of that
characteristic sound can be fully captured with 16/44 recording.

By all means record vinyl at 24 bit if it makes you feel better. It
can't do any harm, and psychologically it might even do some good. But
from an objective standpoint, nothing comes off a vinyl LP that
remotely approaches the capabilities of 16/44.
