The problem is that it is perfectly possible to get the same bad rip twice in a row, meaning you'll get matching CRCs, but still a track with a pop or a crack lurking waiting for you.
Which is why we use AccurateRip. Ripping twice with burst mode is silly, unless the disc isn't in the AccurateRip db.
