If the Python script is tripping up and you think the files you have are
already DTS-WAV, as opposed to plain WAV, then you shouldn't need to do
anything else to the files. Compressing to FLAC just saves disc space
and enables tagging.

How did you rip the files? Are they a rip of a DTS Music disc, or did
you demux a DTS bitstream and rename them to WAV?

Settings-wise you need to switch off replay gain, or make sure there
are no replay gain tags in your DTS-WAVs (not strictly relevant since
you can't tag a WAV), and ensure that the Player Volume, under Server
Setting - Player - Audio, is set to "Output level is fixed at 100%".
