That doesn't make any sense. Rivendell according to you, 2.1.0, is not beta. Another developer told me it was.
Now, someone else also told me that the 2.1.0 packages are not designed for Ubuntu 11.10. Then why are they in the repositories for that version of Ubuntu in the first place, in addition without a beta or alpha marker? I am sorry for my attitude. Please do note though I've had NUMEROUS problems with Rivendell before... in fact EVERY SINGLE TIME I've installed Rivendell in any way including as an upgrade, I've had problems and had to resort to support. That to me is rather unacceptable especially since I have had a lot of experience and knowledge with computers. I feel that is unnecessary. I feel there needs to be appropriate and specific, not to mention updated, installation documentation, where everything you need to know about the installation and all its bugs and problems are easily located from the documentation page. I also feel the Rivendell packages should be more stable before they're put into the repositories, and NOT to include them in the repositories for any distros that have not been tested (or if they are included, having an alpha or beta marker, or being placed in its own separate "testing only/unstable" repository). Anyway, I am going to try a symlink as suggested by someone else. Thanks for your clarifications.
