I don't think we would have to worry about how far Lionel got on the
SD40-2. Lionel's catalog photo of the "American Flyer" SD40-2 was a
heavily retouched (airbrushed, Photoshopped, whatever...) Athearn HO
locomotive. I seriously doubt they got past that stage.
