Guys,

One of the reasons for this "shunning" of S is easy to understand...
Awareness!!!

I've only been in S for a few years now, but I've heard it and seen it 100
times or more... "WOW! I never knew S was this nice!" along with the gawking
looks my models get at shows... most gawkers not believeing me when I tell them
the models are unmodified and factory-new.

That'll be ten cents, please.

Hi Bill, That's precisely what make it odd. More modelers can find
room for the larger size of O scale than they can for S scale?( I've
modeled in all three scales and can't see the reasoning leading to
these skewed distribution numbers)Logically it would seem that there
would be more modelers working in the mid size scale than in the
larger scale. A linear relationship between HO, S and O scales would
be normal(if one wants something larger than HO but doesn't have the
room for O scale it would seem like S would be the popular choice)
This shunning of a most suitable size is very strange....dave
