Gimme the runs 100% and looks 70% and I can make up that last 30%.
There's an adage in business that says this: "High Quality, Low Cost,
Fast Delivery. Choose any two."
So we all want high quality and low cost, right? The catch here is
that we will have to wait so long that the cost, when you consider the
time-value of money, won't be all that low. This is especially true
if you're waiting on someone else to make something for you. It's
less true if you build the something yourself, but then the idea of a
hobby is to "pass time" and we don't consider the time value of money
in the equation anyway. Moral of the story: If you want it good and
cheap, build it yourself.
Low quality is something that we're not willing to compromise on
(we're S scalers, remember?), so it doesn't matter how fast or cheap
it is. High quality and fast delivery and high price is what you get
with brass. Unfortunately, it's the only combination of these three
elements that's realistic from a manufacturer's point of view...
