I got really excited when I read about the E6s. Am very disappointed that it was just an error. I could use them for L&N, Southern, and IC. But I have wondered if someday AM would do either an E6 or E7 since they already have the mechanism to power them. Maybe Tom Hodgson might someday do E6 shells to fit the AM E8 mechanism. - Earl Henry, Nashville ================== In a message dated 9/3/2008 11:19:42 A.M. Billy, et al; Yes, the error was mine. I needed my glasses changed. Now (with new glasses) I see that it is E-8 for sure. Bill Parr referred to them as E-8's in my phone conversation with him. As far as paint scheme goes, Bill said they would look the same as the recent Lionel version of the Texas Special. Hopefully the E-8s will be painted either like the MKT or Frisco E8s were painted, not like the original E-7s were painted. (Although I would love to see the original 1947 E-7 paint job complete with the Pullman Standard fluting on an actual E-7 model.) Katy passenger service in S scale would be fairly easy to model. MKT had one set of E-7s, several sets of E-8As, FP-7s, PA-1s, PA-2s, boiler equipped GP-7s and a couple boiler equipped F7Bs. Only the steam boiler equipped Baldwin H16-44s would be missing. Starting circa 1957 the original red, gray, and yellow paint scheme was phased out with a much more simple solid red with a yellow "Katy" embem on the nose and one on each side. All Katy passenger service ended in 1965. Billy Click Thomas Baker wrote: > > A Texas Special train sounds interesting, but what's up with E-6 > units.
