On the google writeup it showed that the Texas Special only ran until 1964. When I went into the Air Force in August of 1966, they had the big airline strike. The AF put me on a train from Phila to St Louis and from St Louis to San Antonio. I remember that the St Louis to San Antonio leg was the Texas Special and the Conductors mentioned it several times when I got on and during the train ride. The train ride was pretty good, I had my own little room and I won about $50.00 in 1966 money playing poker. So was the date wrong or is there something else going on here. I needed my glasses changed. Now (with new glasses) I see that it is E-8 for sure. Bill Parr referred to them as E-8's in my phone conversation with him.
