It is my understanding that the Kadee 802s/808s were originally made for On3
(or O-n-something-or-another) in the first place. So in reality, Kadee does
NOT really make a S scale coupler... they are just passing off something
that ISN'T S as an S coupler. So, here is what "SHOULD" happen...
1. Kadee should either scrap or update (upgrade = downsize ad/or improve)
the existing, oversized coupler and replace it with a correctly proportioned
1/64 "scale" coupler. Geez, all they would have to do is downsize the HEAD
of the coupler and leave the rest alone, for Pete's sake!
Or, since O-n-something-or-another modelers still exist, and Kadee surely
wan't to keep them happy...
2. Kadee should stop passing off an O scale coupler as an S coupler, and
produce a NEW coupler for us that is actually the size it is supposed to be.
In all reality, as far as I'm concerned, once Sergent get the upgraded S
coupler done, Kadee will have to do one or the other of the above 2 options,
or they can hit the highway. Once the new Sergent coupler hits the market,
if Kadee has not listened to us by then, they are going to lose "ALL" income
from any purchases I might have made had they listened. I am only ONE
customer... but I am still one POTENTIAL customer.
